The Environment Group

Convenor: Geoff Howland

Environ

The Environment Group tackles a broad range of environmental matters and regularly arranges litterpicks, graffiti removal and re-cycling site clean-ups. These supplement, but do not replace, the duties of the Council, with whom we work in close liaison.

In addition to the clean-ups, the Cedar Road, Elmfield Avenue and Tesco car park re-cycling sites are regularly monitored and any problems such as illegal dumping and overfilled bins are reported to the Council for remedial action. So, too, is illegal dumping and other matters of environmental concern, wherever and whenever spotted.

November clean up

We also monitor facilities provided under the Community Toilet Scheme and we report problems to the Council and/or the provider of services.

The group takes an interest in some broader environmental matters of direct consequence to Teddington, such as the eco aspects of the proposed Teddington and Ham Hydro. To this end we maintain contact with other environmentally concerned groups and organisations.
