Herbert Henry Sadler

Son of Herbert Edwin Sadler and Annie Sadler née Elkins of 13 Linden Road, Teddington

Born about April 1892 in Teddington

Attended St Mark’s School, Teddington and then employed by the Hampton Court Gas Company

Married Elsie Freda Whittingham at St Mary's Church, Teddington on 26th December 1914

Joined the Ordnance Corps on 27th October 1915.

Following three months training he was sent to France where he served for two years

before transferring to the 1/24th Queen’s (Royal West Surrey Regiment) in 1917.

Killed in action in France on 2nd September 1918, aged 26.

Buried at Fins New British Cemetery, Sorel-Le-Grand, Picardie, France (Grave Ref.VII. E. 6)
