Charles Reginald Gallop

Son of James Albury Gallop and Rosina May Gallop née Plaster

of 64 Stanley Gardens Road, Teddington

Born 21st March 1912 at Earlsfield, Surrey (now Greater London)

Joined the Royal Navy on 14th September 1927

Living at 56 Atbara Road, Teddington in 1935

Rejoined the Royal Navy as Leading Seaman (P/JX 130835) and served on HMS Holcombe.

On 12th December 1943 his ship was torpedoed by a German submarine and sunk North of

Bougie, Algeria with the loss of 85 men, including Charles Gallop, then aged 31 Years.

Listed on the Royal Naval Memorial at Portsmouth, Hampshire
