Now called Chantry House.
"South Teddington Roman Catholic School. 2-storey building in stock & cream brick with slate roof. Central doorway and windows on either side have classical style cornice and pediment. Gable full width of facade with a round window in the angle." TeddSoc 1973 Survey.
This striking building has a classical façade, 3 bays wide, with a pedimented gable front. The bays are divided by white brick pilasters applied to the yellow stock brick front, with a wider central bay – this arrangement probably ultimately derives from a Roman triumphal arch. The ground floor entrance and adjoining sash windows have stone surrounds with pediments over; the first floor windows have red brick arches and surrounds. The sashes are of different sizes – ‘6 over 8’ panes on the ground floor, and ‘6 over 6’ and ‘8 over 8’ at first floor level. Above the pilasters is a simple entablature, of stone and white brick. There is a circular ‘oculus’ window with stone surround in the pediment tympanum, and a stone string course between ground and first floors. The side elevations have similar windows to those at the front with stone surrounds, but without pediments, at ground floor level.
We do not have any further history of this building such as date built.
