Broad Street 68-72
Road: Broad Street
Property: 68-72 (evens)
70-72 Broad Street has a date plaque of 1883. 68 Broad Street is dated 1900 but follows the same style as 70-72. No.68 retains its historic shopfront pilasters and corbels and ironwork above the fascia. No.70-72 has an unsympathetic modern shopfront. At first floor both buildings have ornate canted bay windows, and a dentilled parapet, constructed of London stock brick with red brick diapering and pilasters, with inset foliated roundels and oblongs. 68-72 Broad Street forms a good example of original retail development, with 4-14 The Causeway. (See BTM: The Causeway 4-14). They retain many original features and details which are of a high quality at this prominent junction. (Source: Richmond Council Assessment)
