Son of Theophilus Roper and Ellen Jane Roper née Block of Victor Road, Teddington, Middlesex

Born about April 1894 at Quidenham, Norfolk, England

Educated at Teddington Council School

Concrete Block Maker of 89 Victor Road, Teddington in 1911

Enlisted at Hounslow as Private (L/14589) with the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment), 1st Battn.

Killed in action in France on 20th December 1914, aged 20

Buried at Ration Farm Military Cemetery, La Chapelle-d'Armentieres, France (Grave Ref. VIII. A. 17)
