Oxford Road 10
Road: Oxford Road
This is an imposing large 2-storey, stock brick building, double fronted with two stucco gable ends, the larger having an attic room, slate roof, bay windows either side of front door, 1st floor casement windows with red brick arches, ornamental stringers, continuous cills with stucco brackets, gable porch to front door. The building is subject to works to the basement area and has a garage. This house is similar in design to the smaller house adjacent at no. 8 and the 7 houses on the other side of the road, nos. 11-23. Although Gascoigne-Pees' sale particulars in 1983 (in Local Studies collection) suggest the house was built in 1880, it must have been considerably later as it is not shown on the 1898 OS map.
