This road is a turning off Hampton Road. The Teddington Society Survey in the 1970s notes that according to the 1863 Ordnance Survey map the road was known as Queen's Road, later called Oxford Road. At the time of the 1898 Ordnance Survey map only the land between Hampton Road and Connaught Road (formerly Coburg Road) had been developed with odd numbered houses. There were, however,some smaller houses with even numbers past the junctions with Connaught Road and Windsor Road.
