"The road is shown on the 1863 OS map which was surveyed just after the manor of Teddington was sold and the land ripe for development. On the 1893 OS map the road is called Cornelius Rd, probably named after Cornelius Park, who bought much of the manor land.There was only one house on the north side, approximately in the centre of the road. The road is not shown on the 1895 Kelly's Directory. Much of the road was built by W.G. Collier about 1904.
