Amos Charles Tickner Clifton

Son of Amos George Clifton and Minnie Clifton nee Cosson of 6 Mill Street, Kingston, Surrey

Born 30th June 1896 at Kingston upon Thames, Surrey

Educated at St John’s School, Spring Grove, Kingston and at Clark’s College, Surbiton

Employed as a Post Office Telegraphist

Enlisted on 3rd September 1914

Private (2553) with 6th (Territorial) Battn., East Surrey Regiment and served with the Indian Expeditionary Force in Mesopotamia

Died on or about the 4th October 1916 of consumption as a prisoner of war at Adana, Turkey.
