George Ernest Carter


Son of George Charles Carter and Ellen Carter née Newell of Little Queens Road, Teddington

Born about 1895 at Hounslow, Middlesex.

Educated at Teddington Council School

Member, SS Peter & Paul LD Church Lads' Brigade

Printers Apprentice and Compositor with T.W. Childs (Printer of Broad Street, Teddington)

Listed on Roll of Local Patriots (Surrey Comet) 19 Sep 1914 and 21 Nov 1914

Sergeant (TF/240627) with the Middlesex Regiment, 1st/8th Battn. (Territorial)

Killed in action on 16 Aug 1917, aged 22
