Arthur Frederick Foster
Son of William Leonard Foster and Anne Elizabeth Foster née Court of 87 Hampton Road, Teddington
Born 10th November 1917 in Birmingham, Warwickshire
Marine (PLY/X 1554), with the Royal Marines, serving on H.M.S. Gloucester.
Died 22nd May 1941, aged 23 years, when his ship was sunk by German dive bombers
during the Battle of Crete - with the loss of 722 men out of a crew of 807.
Listed on the Plymouth Naval Memorial, Devon, England (Panel 59, Column 2)
