George Rose

Son of William Rose and Phoebe Rose née Ponting of Teddington

Born about March 1892 at Hounslow, Middlesex

Private with the Royal West Kent Regiment at Quebec Barracks in 1911

Enlisted at Hounslow, whilst living at Teddington in 1914.

Corporal (L/9356) with the Queen’s Own (Royal West Kent Regiment), 2nd Battn.

Served with the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force

Killed in action on 24th July 1915, aged 22

Buried at Basra War Cemetery, Al Basrah, Basra, Iraq (Grave Reference II.R.8)
