John Harold Montague Phillips

Son of Major John Henley Shawe Phillips and Mrs Charlotte Marie Phillips née Taylor

Born about March 1896 at Hammersmith, Middlesex

Lived at 35 Longfield, Broom Road, Teddington

Educated at Malden College and Camborne Mining School in Cornwall

Enlisted as Private in the Honourable Artillery Company but subsequently obtained

a commission as 2nd Lieut with the Royal Engineers, 4th (London) Field Company.

Died of wounds in France on 25th January 1916, aged 20 years.

Buried at Bethune Town Cemetery, Departement du Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France (Plot: II. M. 8).
