Manor Road, "The Wharf"
Road: Manor Road
Property: "The Wharf"
This is a restaurant situated on the riverbank opposite Teddington Lock behind a block of flats. The boathouse was originally part of Tough Bros. Manor Road boatyard. It is a 2-storey stock brick building under a slate roof with a vent at the South end and appears to have kept the original boathouse shape though it has a large extension which is the dining area with a steel frame, sliding plastic framed glass panels, and faces the river. It has ornamental gable ends at the East and West ends with circular vents. The main ground floor has casement windows with window boxes and the 1st floor windows are sash. It has a first floor balcony on the North and East sides similar to the dining area. Although the extension is modern it has been carried out sympathetically.
