Herbert (“Bertie”) Charles Mapleston Harmer

Son of George Herbert Harmer and Margaret Harmer née Maplestone of 40 Church Road, Teddington

Born 26th June 1895 at Teddington

Educated at Teddington Council School

Apprenticed to a photographer in 1911

Enlisted at Hounslow in 1914 whilst living at Teddington.

Private (299838), Suffolk Regiment

Private (T/207002), The Queens (Royal West Surrey Regiment), 11th Battn.

Killed in action at Locre Farm on 18th April 1918, aged 22

Listed on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, West Flanders, Belgium (Panel 14 to 17 and 162 to 162A)
