Mature silver birches in Princes Road, Teddington

Squire’s Garden Centres, one of our Corporate Partners, are donating hundreds of silver birch trees to the communities in which they operate as part of their “Love Where You Live” campaign.

Throughout September, for every plant or tree (of any variety) bought at Squire’s they will donate 5p, which will go towards providing silver birches for parks and green spaces in Teddington and elsewhere. Squire’s are working closely with local councils, who will plant the trees early next year to make our community spaces even more attractive.

Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s, explained, “We strive to be very much part of the local communities in which our garden centres are located. We want to thank our customers by giving back to the local area, and what better way to do this than by providing stunning silver birch trees that people can enjoy for years to come?”

Silver birches are native British trees that improve air and soil quality, and they are great for wildlife too, providing food and habitats for many birds and insects.

Last year Squire’s donated thousands of tulip bulbs to brighten up local areas – not least in Teddington, when the Teddington Society helped plant them in Udney Hall Gardens.

So visit Squire’s in September, and your local parks and green spaces will benefit too.
