• Teddington Lights Up - latest update

Thursday 29 November at 5.30pm

Following a highly successful crowdfunding appeal and important contributions from Richmond Council, the Teddington Lights Up event in the High Street and Broad Street is now going ahead on Thursday 29th November.

As in previous years, the High Street will become a pedestrian precinct and will be closed to traffic from 5.30pm to 8pm, and local traders will be open until late. Broad Street traders will also be participating from the earlier time of 4pm onwards. And the Christmas tree, kindly sponsored by the Lensbury Club, is already in its usual prominent position outside the old Post Office on the junction with Elmfield Avenue. The actual lights switch-on by the Deputy Mayor of Richmond is planned for 6pm on the 29th.

Among the musical acts performing on the night will be the Teddington Gospel Choir with the Rev Azariah France-Williams, plus Pauline and the Imaginary Friends, well-known for their interactive performances. And as in previous years, Radio Jackie will also be present.

Teddington Lights Up is sponsored by The Lensbury, the National Physical Laboratory, Harlequins, and the White Brasserie. The two charities that will benefit from the evening are the Charlie Gard Foundation and Ruils.

All in all, it’s going to be a night to remember – so mark the date in your diary now!
